Your role as a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer at MEMSIC

As a Mask Layout Design Engineer you will be responsible for mask layout of analog designs for integration into a System-on-Chip (SoC). Independently interact with circuit designer or layout manger to understand layout requirements to meet circuit performance requirements. Assess, plan, and execute as required to meet schedule deadlines and communicate potential problems to circuit designer or layout lead. Work with other custom analog layout designers world-wide and ensure quality of work is meeting standards required by circuit design or layout lead.

You will be part of the MEMSIC Engineering R&D team and report to the Analog Layout Manager. You will be based in Enschede, the Netherlands.

Key challenges:

  • Convert CMOS Schematics to optimized mask layout efficiently in TSMC 0.13um process or below
  • Create layout design of blocks such as LDOs, Charge-Pump, Buffers, ADC, DAC, low noise and low power analog blocks, resistors, capacitors, pad IOs, and ESD structures.
  • Integrate analog and digital blocks in Cadence IC 6.xx and run DRC/LVS verification using Calibre flow
  • Be able to work with world-wide teams to develop best-in-breed MEMS sensor chips


MEMSIC is looking for a design oriented IC Mask Layout Design Engineer. Someone who thrives in an environment where your creativity and independent thinking are highly appreciated. You have:

  • Challenging attitude with clear verbal and written communication
  • 5+ years of IC Mask design experience
  • Good knowledge of CMOS devices, device matching and optimizing for low noise
  • Experience with DFM. LOD, STI, WPE is a plus
  • Master degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is preferred, although candidates with a Bachelor degree will be considered
