Your role as a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer at MEMSIC

As a Principal Analog IC Design Engineer you will be responsible for leading IC design projects from specification to volume production stages. You will interface with multi-disciplinary global teams to effectively co-ordinate product development through all phases of development. You will be part of the MEMSIC Technology/IC-design team, which is a multi-site team with offices in the US, Asia and in The Netherlands. You will be based in Enschede, the Netherlands.


Key challenges:

  • Translate the requirements for optimal driving and read out of the MEMS sensors into system architectures and block level specifications.
  • Perform system level and behavioral modelling to verify system level performance using MATLAB, Mathcad or equivalent simulators.
  • Select optimal block-level circuit architectures to implement the required functions
  • Design of blocks such as: low noise amplifiers, switched capacitor circuits, low power data converters (ADC, DAC), filters, MEMS-sensor signal processing circuits, reference circuits, IO circuits, etc.
  • Have a good understanding of analog layout for performance and supervise layout designers.
  • Guide board designs, based on experience in IC evaluation/application board design for silicon testing.
  • Guide junior IC Design Engineers

    Requirements

    MEMSIC is looking for a solution oriented Principal Analog IC Design Engineer. Someone who thrives in an environment where your creative and analytical thinking is highly appreciated. You have:


    • 15+ years’ experience in analog and mixed-signal IC design
    • PhD or Master degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, although candidates with a Bachelor degree will also be considered
    • Prior experience in ASIC design for Gyroscopes is a big plus
    • Good knowledge of CMOS devices, device matching and optimizing for low noise.
    • Thorough understanding of simulation models, design rules, verification procedures (DRC/ LVS/ERC) and transistor-level simulation.
    • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English
